Music player

Adding a song, autoplay, the player styles and positions, and volume.

Where: Customize → Music

Song link / upload

Upload an MP3, OGG or WAV (up to 10MB, or 20MB with yumu pro) or paste a direct link to an audio file. You can also drop it on Song in Profile → Assets. When you upload, the title, artist and cover art are read from the file.

Title / Artist / Cover

Shown on the player. Fill them in yourself if the file had none.

Default volume

0–100%

Visitors can change it with the player.

Autoplay after entry

On / Off

Starts the song when the visitor taps through the click-to-enter screen.

Loop track

On / Off

Default: On

Starts again when it ends.

Player style

Glass, Compact, Minimal, Vinyl

Default: Glass

Vinyl spins your cover like a record.

Controls

Full player, Mute button only

Default: Full player

Mute button only hides the player and keeps a small round button.

Position

Inside the card, Top left, Top right, Bottom left, Bottom center, Bottom right

Default: Bottom right

Where the player or mute button sits.

Why music won’t start on its own

Every browser blocks sound until the visitor has tapped or clicked the page. The click-to-enter screen is that tap, which is why Autoplay after entry needs the [click-to-enter screen](/help/entry-screen). Without it, visitors press play themselves.

Positions

  • Inside the card puts the full player inside your card on Identity, After Dark and Panel. On other layouts it falls back to the bottom center of the screen.
  • With Mute button only, Inside the card has nothing to hold, so the button goes in the bottom right corner. Use a corner position instead.
  • Bottom center moves the yumu pill to the top of the page so they don’t overlap.
