Usernames and aliases
Username rules, your free change, aliases, inventory gifts/trades, and the 7-day hold.
Where: Settings → Aliases · Dashboard → Inventory
- Usernames are 2 to 32 characters: letters, numbers and underscores. Capitals don’t matter.
- A few names are reserved for the site itself (like admin, help, login and settings).
- You get one free username change in Settings. Your old @ becomes an alias (so the old link still opens your page) when you have a free alias slot; otherwise it’s held for you for 7 days.
- Aliases are extra @names that open your page. Free accounts get 1, yumu pro up to 5, and alias slots from the Shop add more. Swap which one is your main @ any time in Settings or Inventory.
- In Inventory you can gift an alias or propose a 1-for-1 trade (both people confirm). Reserved names can’t move. Listed aliases stay locked until you take them off the Market.
- A name you give up without keeping it as an alias stays reserved for you for 7 days, then anyone can take it.
